Daily Schedule
Hours of Operation
During the regular school year (from mid-September through May), the preschool operates Monday/Wednesday/Friday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon for 4 to 5 year olds; Tuesday/Thursday mornings from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon for 2 year, 9 months to 3 year olds. Holidays and vacations coincide with the Redding School District's calendar.
8:00 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
Teacher opens school and prepares for the day's activities.
8:45 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
Working parents arrive and set up preschool for the day's activities.
9:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
Outside Play: Children arrive and play outside. Health check by teacher.
9:30 a.m. to 9:45 a.m.
Circle Time in main room for songs, calendar, discussion.
9:45 a.m. to 10:55 a.m.
Exploration Time: Children choose which area and activities to explore.
10:55 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Clean Up Time: Children clean up exploration areas.
11:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m.
Circle Time: Children talk about day's events, sing songs, rewards.
11:15 a.m. to 11:20 a.m.
Bathroom Break: Children use lavatory and wash their hands.
11:20 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Snack Time: Children eat in small groups at tables.
11:30 a.m. to 12:00 Noon
Outdoor play: Children choose outside activities.
Working Parents finish clean up.
12:00 Noon
Departure Time
12:00 Noon to 12:30 p.m.
Teacher on campus, if needed.
