Meet the Teacher
The Redding Cooperative Preschool has one Teacher-Director who oversees the classroom, the children, the parents, and the curriculum. Teacher Jula will be teaching both the MWF and TTh classes.
Dear parents,
Welcome to a new school year at the Redding Cooperative Preschool. I am very excited to introduce myself to your family. My name is Jula Herzog and I am the Preschool’s Teacher/Director. I have held this position since the 2007-2008 school year. The previous year, I was the teacher for the 4-year-old class, and the year before that, I was a Co-op parent just like you. I have been involved in the education field for almost 15 years, first as a bilingual teacher’s assistant and later as a Spanish teacher for both adults and children.
The Co-op is very dear to my heart since it helped me realize that I love being a preschool teacher (my initial educational plans were to become an elementary school teacher). Children’s curiosity inspires me and I am passionate about contributing tools for them to make their own discoveries. It is my goal to challenge and support your children in all their journeys of exploration and learning in a safe environment.
I am originally from Guayaquil, Ecuador were I met my husband, Walter. We have 2 children, my daughter will be attending 7th grade and my son will be entering 3rd grade. Both children are in the Redding Soccer League and every weekend you can find our whole family at the Soccer Park. I also enjoy sewing, reading, camping, and traveling.
The special day for your child to get acquainted with his/her classroom is coming up. Please pencil it in your calendar and be ready to spend a fun time with your child.
Arrive anytime between 9:00 and 11:00 AM or stay for the whole time.Meet the Teacher Monday/Wednesday/Friday class, September 1, 2010
Meet The Teacher Tuesday/Thursday class, September 2, 2010Please bring a recent photo of your son/daughter, a water bottle and a season appropriate change of clothes for you child’s cubby.
I can’t wait to see you. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Affectionately,
Teacher Jula
